I'm Jake Ballard. I've been in ecommerce for 15+ years and have driven 9 figures in revenue across ecom brands.

I co-founded Flatline Van Co., an adventure van brand we built and sold to Horsepower Automotive (Huron Capital) in 2023. Before, during, and after that - I've been deep in the trenches of product development, supply chain, Shopify, Klaviyo, Meta ads, and every other tool in the ecommerce stack.

I started tinkering with AI tools for my own brands and friends' brands a few years back, and really dove in during 2025 when tools like Claude Code got significantly better. I started building "skills" - structured AI prompts with deep brand context - and was blown away by the difference in output quality when the AI actually knows your brand, your voice, your customers, and your numbers.

That's when it clicked: the gap isn't the AI. The gap is the context. A generic ChatGPT prompt gives you generic output. A skill loaded with your Brand Brain - your positioning, your audience data, your competitors, your voice - gives you output that sounds like it came from your best team member.

DTCskills is me packaging everything I've built and learned into tools that any ecommerce operator can use.
